Adopts White Bengal Tiger
Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Justin Timberlake collectively known
as *NSYNC have joined forces with Stars In The Wild by adopting the endangered
Bengal Tiger."If we can alert our fans to the plight of the tiger and the  Stars In The Wild project, we will in our special way, contribute to the preservation of  our animal friends. We hope that you will join us." The main purpose of *NSYNC's involvement in the Stars In The Wild project is awareness.  Your adoption of the Bengal Tiger supports the preservation of our irreplaceable animal population and the environment. THE TIGER: Tigers are disappearing from our planet at a startling rate. Just ten years ago, there were eight sub-species of tiger. Only five remain today, mostly due to habitat destruction and poaching. Sadly, tigers are still hunted (although illegaly) forsport and bones. In Asian folk medicine,  every part of the tiger's body is valued and sought after for it's mythical powers.  Current estimates predict that at least one tiger is poached everyday.
The best known variety of tigers are found in India. This is the Bengal Tiger.  The Bengal Tiger population has been tragically reduced from 100,000 (a century ago) to 5,000 today. Currently most Bengal Tigers are found in reserves or in zoos.

Like most wild animals, the needs of the tiger are simple.  Enough land to support a good supply of prey, plenty of water and a cover of trees and plants for hunting and breeding are essential. Efforts are being made by zoos and other institutions to conserve the little habitat that is left for these precious animals. Unless we aggressively protect these magnificent creatures and their home in the wild, these beautiful animals

will disappear forever. TIGER FACTS:
Tigers can grow up to 10 ft long and 600 lbs in weight.
Tigers are solitary and hunt mainly at night.
Tigers are good swimmers but poor climbers.
Tigers are not fast runners buat are stealth enough to catch an antelope.

Remember that by our actions we can all make a difference.
